Rules of the Range

Chippewa County Shooting Association Standard Operating Procedures
Rifle and Pistol Range

Membership use: 
1. CCSA members in good standing may use the CCSA rifle-pistol range any day between the hours of 8:00 AM and dusk, except as noted in b) below.
a) While on the range, members will show membership identification upon request by any member.
b) Members will coordinate with other members and guests for safe range use.
c) A member may bring guests, but not more than two guests at any one time.
d) Our guest policy is as follows: First time, guest; second time, friend; third time, member.
e) Members and guests should conduct themselves in a sportsmanlike manner.
B. Members may not use the rifle-pistol range:
a) When the range has been reserved. (Dates are posted in the staging area.)
b) When maintenance is being performed on the range.

Reserved use:
1. Shooting groups may reserve the ranges for their exclusive use under these conditions:
a) Dates and times must not conflict with previously scheduled events.
b) A range application is submitted and approved by CCSA six weeks in advance.
c) Supervisor must be a CCSA member and be at the range on the day of the event.
d) Range use forms and range fees are submitted within a reasonable time.

Range Safety Policy:
1. Eye and ear protection is mandatory for everyone while on the shooting line.
2. No one shall handle a firearm while anyone is forward of the shooting line.
3. Everyone using the range should have a good understanding of safe firearms use.

NRA safety rules are posted in the staging areas on the ranges.

Helpful Hints:
1. A staple gun is needed to post target backers.
2. Target frames are designed for 20" by 36" cardboard backers.
